I am a board-certified emergency physician and medical educator based in Dallas, Texas. I completed fellowship training in cardiovascular emergencies at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma and teach emergency medicine with a focus on cardiovascular care, including advanced ECG interpretation.

Over the past decade, I have led education programs, developed clinical pathways, and supported quality improvement and implementation efforts in a variety of settings. My goal is straightforward: teach practical skills, mentor developing clinicians, and help teams deliver safer, more consistent care.

I have worked in clinical emergency medicine since 2010, with more than 15 years of experience in high-acuity emergency care. As core faculty and an Associate Professor, I teach medical students and residents with particular focus on cardiovascular emergencies and ECG interpretation.

My work also includes educational publishing, quality improvement, medicolegal case review, and collaboration with health-tech teams.

What I Work On

EM Cardiology & ECG Education

Honored to work with Dr. Amal Mattu and the ECGWeekly.com team on case-based emergency cardiology education. I also created ECG STAT, a bedside ECG interpretation guide and teaching platform designed to extend this approach and make high-quality ECG education easier to use in clinical practice. ECG STAT has been a long-term project of mine, built to help clinicians develop reliable pattern recognition and decision-making in acute care.

CorePendium & Academic Work

I am also honored to serve as Associate Editor for the Cardiovascular Disorders section of CorePendium, EM:RAP’s online emergency medicine textbook, and to contribute to educational work that supports how our field teaches and learns. I believe the next phase of medical education will combine strong scholarship with thoughtful digital design and responsible use of AI. The goal is simple: more usable, up-to-date references for emergency and acute care clinicians.

I collaborate with cardiology and emergency medicine teams on care pathways and system-level improvement for high-risk cardiovascular presentations seen in the emergency department. This work spans time-sensitive syndromes across acute ischemia, thromboembolism, aortic disease, atrial arrhythmias, and decompensated heart failure, with emphasis on pathway development and implementation support.
